Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose faults in heavy equipment to determine repair needs.
• Monitor maintenance trends across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service times, and prepare detailed reports.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematic diagrams and circuits.
• Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance tasks.
• Develop and adhere to scheduled planned maintenance activities.
• Support achievement of maintenance targets efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Engage in personal development and training programs to enhance skills.
• Maintain world-class workmanship quality at all times.
• Assist in tracking equipment life cycles to support asset management.

Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Craft Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintaining heavy earthmoving equipment.
• Strong knowledge of construction, design, assembly, and maintenance of mining or construction heavy equipment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
• Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and innovative problem-solving abilities.
• Membership with the Engineering Institute of Zambia is required.
