Job Overview

The Just and Climate-Resilient Urban Development and Decentralisation in Zambia Programme (CitiZen+D), implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Government, supports Zambia’s efforts towards sustainable urban development and effective decentralisation.

Key Responsibilities

• To monitor and report about the performance of accounting functions of the partner councils including their technical capacity to track and analyse resource allocations and expenditure.
• Facilitate the use of efficient processes for collection of own sources of revenue.
• Provide technical advice in the establishment and formalisation of an asset maintenance and renewal financing system.
• Facilitate the use of digital tools in revenue management to enhance collection efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’ degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Master’s degree preferred
• Full Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants qualification/certification (CA Zambia, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Active Membership with ZICA with a valid practicing license
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in progressive accounting
