Greenhouse Manager

Job Overview

Mayo Agro Services Ltd is seeking a dedicated Greenhouse Manager to lead daily operations at our Makeni Konga facility in Lusaka, Zambia.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily greenhouse operations including sowing, germination, fertigation, and hardening off seedlings.
• Develop and monitor nursery irrigation and nutrition schedules, ensuring optimal water quality (pH/EC).
• Implement sanitation protocols, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and rapid pest and disease control.
• Coordinate variety trials, test new seed varieties, and analyze agronomic performance data.
• Supervise and schedule greenhouse labour, conduct daily briefings, and maintain high production standards.

Requirements

• Diploma in Agriculture with a focus on Horticulture or a related field, plus a minimum of two years practical experience in agriculture.
• Registered member of the Agricultural Institute of Zambia (AIZ) or eligible for immediate registration.
• Hands-on experience with nursery irrigation systems, fertigation management, and preparation of nutrient solutions.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
