Job Overview

Barrick Lumwana Mining invites applications for the position of Equipment Inspector based in Kalumbila, North West Province, Zambia. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic Maintenance Team dedicated to ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine, scheduled, statutory, and ad-hoc inspections on mobile and fixed mining equipment
• Detect equipment defects, wear, performance deviations, and potential failures
• Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and ensure accurate data entry into SAP
• Escalate critical defects promptly to supervisors and maintenance planners
• Verify repair quality and compliance with maintenance standards
• Participate in failure investigations and provide technical feedback

Requirements

• Full Grade Twelve School Certificate
• Minimum Craft Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or equivalent qualification
• At least 2 years of experience in heavy earthmoving equipment maintenance
• Proficient in using CMMS systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office applications
• Membership with the Engineering Institute of Zambia
