Job Overview

The Nature Conservancy invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Transboundary Freshwater & Fisheries Manager based in Livingstone/Lusaka, Zambia.

Key Responsibilities

• Foster collaboration with TNC country teams and KAZA partners, align freshwater and fisheries programs.
• Enhance community-based fisheries management and promote transboundary fisheries policy integration.
• Support basin-wide initiatives addressing connectivity, environmental flows, and habitat integrity.
• Promote standardized monitoring protocols and improve data-sharing to inform evidence-based decision-making.
• Coordinate engagement with regional bodies such as KAZA Secretariat and assist in mobilizing sustainable finance.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree with over seven years of relevant conservation experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in National Protected and Conserved Area Management legislation within the KAZA region.
• Experience managing complex projects, supervising teams, and collaborating with government and NGO partners.
• Strong communication skills in English; fluency in Portuguese is highly advantageous.
