Job Overview

mothers2mothers is seeking a skilled Finance Manager to oversee the full finance function in Lusaka, Zambia. This role is pivotal in managing all financial transactions, administrative processes, and donor reporting to support effective resource allocation for programme implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading treasury processes and internal controls to safeguard organisational resources and ensure compliance with donor and statutory requirements.
• Managing financial and compliance obligations of diverse donors, ensuring expenses align with grant agreements.
• Building capacity within the country team on finance policies, procurement, and accounting systems.
• Coordinating statutory and donor audits, including preparation, documentation, and follow-up on audit findings.
• Overseeing monthly account closings, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow management through budgeting and funding requests.
• Providing financial advice to project leads and supporting procurement, logistics, and programme management activities.
• Managing fixed assets, inventory, and partner financial due diligence in collaboration with the Global Support Hub.
• Reviewing and monitoring partner financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with budgets and grant terms.
• Preparing and maintaining country and project budgets, financial reports, and forecasts with detailed variance analysis.
• Supporting proposal budget preparation and delivering ad hoc financial reports as required.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years’ post-study experience in finance or accounting, including at least two years in management.
• Proven ability to present financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience in preparing budgets, forecasts, and comprehensive financial reports.
• Strong accounting expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with ERP accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
